Doomsday, Dr. Strangelove movie film festival hand manipulated poster creation project. I had a whole design process thought out for this project. I wanted an eerie typeface that i was able to create a stencil, with the rigid edges, it also gave it a more cut-like aesthetic. I started off with a white background with a gloss / red paint, and then wanted to create more contrast so i elevated it using nails, and painted the background black and painted the stencil red to have the shadows, red, blacks, and elevation as contrasting factors.
After creating the image from manipulation, I went to further design this poster in photoshop. With some minor lifting in photoshop raw, i was able to create this high-contrasting film festival poster. I wanted to incorporate a juxtaposition within my design with the "Welcome to" and then "Doomsday" having two very contrasting typefaces but have a consistent flow in hierarchy.
